Rush: Snake with upgrades
Rush is the main Snake Rush mode. It plays like the Snake you know, but every few bites you choose an upgrade, so no two runs are the same.
How Rush works
- Every 5 bites, three upgrade bubbles appear on the board. Steer into the one you want; the other two vanish. Bubbles nobody eats fade after 10 seconds.
- Every 25 bites, a red risk bubble appears. Eat it to accept a hazard, such as poison food or the lights going out, for a score multiplier of ×1.5 to ×2, or ignore it.
- The snake speeds up a little every 5 bites, and the walls always stay solid.
- Your run pays coins (1 for every 50 points) that unlock skins and more upgrades. Coins can also revive you after a crash.
Upgrades to look for
- Magnet pulls nearby food toward your head. Shield lets you survive one crash.
- Ghost tail lets you pass through the last cells of your tail, and Thin body lets you slip through every other segment.
- Double bite doubles the points of every bite, and Long combo gives you more time to chain bites.
- 13 upgrades are open from the start, and 9 more unlock with coins in the Collection, including Dash, Vacuum and Lifeline.
Tips
- Eat quickly, one bite after another: the combo multiplier climbs to ×5.
- Pass close by walls and your own body for near-miss points, without touching them.
- Pick a Shield early in a run; it gives you room to take risks later.
