About Snake Rush

Snake is one of the oldest ideas in video games. It started in arcades in 1976 with Blockade, and it became famous in 1997, when it shipped on Nokia mobile phones and millions of people played it on tiny screens. The rules have hardly changed since: guide the snake to the food, grow longer with every bite, and don't run into the walls or your own tail.

Snake Rush keeps those rules and that exact, grid-by-grid control, and adds the things that make one more run hard to resist:

  • Rush mode: every 5 bites you choose 1 of 3 upgrades, so each run plays differently.
  • Combos and near-misses: eating quickly multiplies your points, and slipping past danger is rewarded.
  • Real food and scenery: fruit, insects and more on hand-drawn gardens, deserts, snowfields and volcanoes.
  • A living board: your snake sheds its skin, lays eggs, and hatchlings grow into wild snakes.
  • More ways to play: 100 puzzle levels, a Daily Challenge, races against your own ghost, and a computer snake to beat.

The game is free, runs in any modern browser on a computer, tablet or phone, and keeps your progress on your own device. There's no account to create and nothing to download.
